Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, located in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition and placing among the top two athletes in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix graduated from her high school education and was signed to an official contract for Adidas. In the year 2004, she enrolled in the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. A year later Felix was awarded the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking the world junior record taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked within the top three athletes in her respective events.
