Hilary Swank

Hilary Swank was an American actress that won awards for her performances in films such as "Boys Don't Cry" as well as "Million Dollar Baby". The recipient of Academy Award for Best Actress twice, this gifted actress is able to trying out different roles, and will not shirk of playing characters that aren't glamorous. Her passion for acting was obvious from the time she was a child, as early as 8 she revealed to her parents she planned to become an actress. Amidst a difficult childhood, and a tough life, her story provides an illustration of someone who is able to rise beyond the difficulties and reach success. Her favorite pastime was to retreat to the realm of imagination in her teens in order to escape the pressures of everyday life. She was a pro at dancing, swimming and gymnastics in high school. At the age of sixteen she went into Los Angeles with her mother to pursue a career in acting. She played a role in the film 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' The big break came when she was selected for the role of lead on "The The Next Karate Kid" the role for which many other actresses also vied for. Sasha is transgender when she began her high school career. Sasha had to face some tough times however she was confident that his family would be there for him and that music could help. Jim and Sasha both are songwriters. They have been playing at local venues along with open mics and in other places. The Voice coaches never discussed Sasha's past, however Jim and Sasha have shared their story through a short video that was played prior to their performance. Both Jim and Sasha discussed the music they like in addition to how Sasha took up guitar the very first time at age six.
