Mischa Barton

Barton was a part of theater in film, television and theater. She is American-born and British. Slavs, a Tony Kushner's production in New York's Lincoln Center was her first theatre performance. and was the lead role in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. In 1996 she debuted as an actor with the appearance of a short part in All My Children. She was also a voice actor in the Nickelodeon animated series KaBlam! Her time in TV was from 1996 until 1997. From 1996 to 1997, she portrayed the role of lead in Lawn Dogs alongside Sam Rockwell. This was her first big acting role. Her notable films include M. Night Shyamalan's Psychological crime thriller The Sixth Sense (1998) and the comedy about love Notting Hill (1998). In 1999, she played in Pups, a crime thriller that was created by an independent company. Barton as Evan Rachel Wood's love-interest on the ABC series Once and Again in 2001 and also in the independent drama Lost and Delirious in 2001. As a character on Marissa Cooper on the Fox Television series The O.C. in 2003-2006 the actress was honored with two Teen Choice Awards. Barton was well-known for this role, as well as Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Barton has since appeared in the comedy St Trinian's, the drama Closing the Ring directed by Richard Attenborough and the drama Closing the Ring.
