LadyLady Starlight, a performance artist, was introduced to Gaga during the time. The album she released first, "The Fame", was released in 2008 with little media attention. Gaga went on tour in Europe and the US to promote the album. However, it was not until Gaga got her first big hit, "Just Dance", that mainstream attention began come to the music industry. Gaga was suffering from a labral tear on her right leg. she had been secretly nursing for several weeks to ensure she could continue the tour. She was left unable to walk after her show in Toronto and was in extreme pain. The tour was canceled.

Sasha is transgender when she began her high school career. Sasha had to face some tough times however she was confident that his family would be there for him and that music could help. Jim and Sasha both are songwriters. They have been playing at local venues along with open mics and in other places. The Voice coaches never discussed Sasha's past, however Jim and Sasha have shared their story through a short video that was played prior to their performance. Both Jim and Sasha discussed the music they like in addition to how Sasha took up guitar the very first time at age six.
